Professional Reiki Practitioner Foundation Course

for Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki students

with Kate Jones Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master

In Reiki practice since 1989

3 Weekends

15 - 17 September, 1 - 3 December 2017, 9 - 11 March 2018

at Central England College, Kings Heath Birmingham

Kate is a practitioner giving Reiki treatments at Central England College, so you will have an opportunity to see how an active centre works. There may also be an opportunity for students who are local to Kings Heath and successfully complete the course to offer Reiki treatments at the Central England.

Meals and accommodation are not included, but refreshments at breaks (including a range of non-caffeine and green teas) will be provided. There are local shops a take-away and pub close by where you can buy food, as well as a kitchen at the Centre for those who would like to bring food with them.

1st weekend to include:
  • Exploring what it means to be a professional Reiki practitioner and the journey that can lead there.
"I knew this course was definitely for me when I realised I was a public practitioner not a 'professional' one"
  • The importance of self care through regular self treatment.
"It was good to go over the importance and benefits of self treatment in non-practitioner/practitioner scenarios"
  • Review the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki treatment practice and how it applies to public treatments, including a review of the standard Usui Shiki Ryoho treatment form, seated treatment and additional hand positions

2nd weekend to include:

  • How to prepare and manage your treatment space
  • How to deal with clients appropriately
"exploring, expanding on different considerations, record keeping etc benefiting from Kate's experience"
  • What is expected of you as a professional
"a feeling of responsibility, stimulating, challenging"
  • Basic anatomy and physiology.
"I really enjoyed the anatomy and physiology session, which was funny, as I have an aversion to it, it's like another language, however, the session was fun, and we learnt by colouring in, labelling and using our previous knowledge. I've been in other A & P courses for yoga and massage but not much has ever stayed in my brain! I was unexpectedly surprised to find that session one of the best ones as linked reiki to very specific areas of the body and how we can treat that area."

3rd weekend to include:

  • The flow of money including setting fees
"Surprisingly a much deeper subject than just "what to charge or not to charge". I learnt a discovered attitudes to money I hadn't acknowledged."
  • Legal requirements
"completely informative - valuable, important information"
  • How to let people know what you are offering (marketing)
"I learnt so much from this module. Up until now I hadn't realised how many ways I could let people know I am a Reiki practitioner."
  • Next steps
